C.A.R.E
Community Action Resources of Escalon
Community Based Volunteer Organization
The Escalon Ministerial Association (EMA) serves as the administrative board responsible for the C.A.R.E. Program. Each week about 15-20 volunteers work in various food distribution programs to help local residents in time of need.
Each week C.A.R.E. program is open for the residents of the Escalon Unified School District who need food and whose income meets Federal guidelines.
Director and Volunteers
Sherrie Vaden is the current Interim Director of C.A.R.E. along with a faithful and dedicated group of capable volunteers who keep C.A.R.E. going. Volunteers pick up food (with their own trucks), clean the center, pack bags, help people to sign in each week, help carry out food bags, monitor the distribution of extra items and sort food items. All these varied jobs need to get done and keep a program such as C.A.R.E. going. We invite you to join our team of volunteers. If you are interested please contact Sherry Vaden at 209-417-2048 or email at sjvaden@yahoo.com.
Donations Accepted
C.A.R.E. gets its supplies from many sources. In addition to our regular suppliers from the area food bank we rely on community donations. Donations of food are accepted and must be unopened and usually not perishable or home made. We do accept fresh home grown produce (in good condition) in season. Please do not leave your donations outside. If you have items to donate we ask that you phone ahead and arrange for someone to meet you there. Donations can also be delivered to most churches in Escalon. C.A.R.E. no longer accepts clothing or household items. Check donations to C.A.R.E. may be mailed to:
